Metal & Tube Industries

Metal & Tube Industries is found at 271 Linghi Chetty Street. Some of the older records still show it as Old No. 131, so that can be a bit confusing for new delivery drivers who aren't used to the area. It’s an old street with a lot of character and plenty of other businesses nearby. We deal with exactly what the name says: metals and tubes. Our space is filled with stacks of pipes and various metal components of all sizes. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around on a daily basis. The building itself has been there for decades. It has high ceilings and big doors to get the long tubes in and out without hitting the walls. We don’t have any fancy displays or a showroom. The inventory is the main thing you see when you walk in the door. Linghi Chetty Street is usually quite busy with traffic, so getting things in and out requires a bit of timing and patience. We have a small office tucked away in the back where we keep the ledgers and the old computer. It’s a bit dark in there, but it’s quiet compared to the street. We’ve been part of this trading community for a long time. People come to us because they know we’re always at this location. We don’t change much. The way we do things is pretty much how it’s always been done. We just keep track of the stock and help people who come by looking for specific materials.
