Our shop is in the Paliyad Nagar Society area, right near the Devkinandan Jain Temple in Naranpura. It’s a nice part of town, usually pretty peaceful except during the festival times when the temple gets very busy. We have been serving this community for a long time, and many of the people who come in are our neighbors. We aren't trying to be the biggest chemist in Naranpura, just a place where you can get your prescriptions filled without any fuss. The shop itself is a modest size, but we cram a lot into it. There’s always a faint smell of medicines and soap in the air. We spend our mornings talking to the delivery drivers who bring in the daily supplies. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but it’s okay because the conversations with customers keep things interesting. People often stop by just to ask a quick question about a brand or to see if we have a specific tonic in stock. We don't use any of those big corporate slogans. We just open the doors in the morning and do our job until it’s time to close up at night. The temple being so close gives a nice atmosphere to the street. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and the floor swept. It’s a steady life and we’re happy to be part of this neighborhood. Sometimes we run out of space for all the boxes, but we manage.
