We are located way up on the 8th floor of Mardia Plaza, right on C.G. Road. It’s a bit different from being in a ground-floor shop because we have a view of all the traffic and people moving down below. Madhur Minerals And Stones Ltd. is mostly an office where we manage the logistics of moving minerals from the mines to wherever they need to go. The elevator can be a bit slow during lunch hours when everyone in the plaza is coming and going, but once you’re inside our office, it’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and phones ringing. We have samples of different minerals sitting on the shelves, some looking like regular rocks and others with a bit of a shine to them. It’s a lot of talking to drivers, checking weights, and making sure the permits are all in order. C.G. Road is a busy place to be, so there is always something happening outside. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for years. Most of our work happens over the phone or through emails, but we do get people coming in to discuss contracts or look at the mineral grades we handle. It’s a steady kind of job, sitting among the paperwork and maps of mining areas. We keep some tea and biscuits for visitors, but mostly we just stay focused on the day’s tallies and schedules.
