Madhu Steel

We are over at 16 Jivraj Nagar Society, right across from the Police Commissioner Office in Shahibaug. It’s a busy part of the city, and having the police office right there means there is always something happening outside. We deal with steel at Madhu Steel, so the shop is full of heavy beams and metal sheets. It is definitely not a place for someone who likes to keep their hands clean. We’ve got iron dust everywhere, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. The shop is a bit small for the amount of inventory we try to keep, so things are stacked pretty high. We don’t have any fancy marketing people or a big sales office. It’s usually just us moving the steel around and talking to the people who stop by. Most of our visitors are local builders or guys doing some work on their own houses. Shahibaug is a good location, and being in the society makes it feel a bit more like a community. We’ve been here for a long time and we know the rhythms of the street. Some days are loud with the sound of metal hitting metal, and other days are a bit slower. We just take it as it comes. It is a very straightforward business without any bells or whistles. We just focus on the steel and getting it where it needs to go.
