M & B Engineering is what we do at 38, Mahudhi Mahavir Society. We’ve been at this spot in Sabarmati for a good while, right in the D-Cabin area. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad and there is always some kind of noise or traffic outside our door. We mostly handle technical jobs and various engineering tasks that come our way from local clients. The workshop gets pretty loud and dusty, especially when we have a few projects piled up at the same time, but that is just how the work is. Sometimes the heat in Ahmedabad is really something else and it makes everything feel slower, but we keep the machines running anyway. It is definitely not a fancy office with air conditioning everywhere. Just a plain place where we come in, do the work with our hands, and go home to our families. People around here know where we are because we’ve been around the neighborhood for years. We spend a lot of time looking at old drawings and trying to fix metal parts that don’t quite fit right. It takes a lot of patience and some heavy lifting. My own desk is usually covered in papers, oily rags, and some tools I forgot to put back. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to get the daily jobs done so we can move on to the next thing tomorrow. It's just honest work for people who need things built or fixed. If you walk past the society, you'll hear the grinding before you see us. That is just our life here.
