Shree Laxmi Steel Rolling Mill

The Shree Laxmi Steel Rolling Mill is situated on Katosan Road, right in the Katosan Bazzar area of Dertoj. This is an industrial spot where we work with steel every day. It’s a hot and heavy environment because of the rolling processes we use. The mill has been part of the local landscape for a while now. When the machines are running, you can hear them from a distance. It’s not a place for office shoes; you need sturdy boots here. We spend our shifts moving metal and watching the rollers. The building itself is large and open to help with the heat and the smoke. It’s a bit dusty, as you’d expect from a place that handles raw steel. We are located near the bazaar, so there’s always some activity nearby. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a glossy front desk. It’s just a gate, a yard for the trucks, and the main mill area. Most of the people working here live nearby in Dertoj or the surrounding villages. It’s tough work that requires a lot of attention so nobody gets hurt. We just focus on the daily output and making sure the steel is rolled out as it should be. The days are long and the work is repetitive, but it’s a steady living for everyone involved in the mill. We just keep the rollers moving through the heat.
