Komal Import And Export is based in Amit Estate, near the Sanand Chokdi where the Sarkhej Gandhi Nagar Highway crosses. It’s a busy intersection and you can always hear the sound of horns and engines from our window. We’ve been working from this office for several years now, handling various goods that come and go from the port. The office itself is quite simple, mostly filled with filing cabinets and a few chairs for when people come to visit. We aren't interested in being a big corporate entity; we just like doing our work and going home to our families. Every day brings a different challenge, like a shipment being stuck at the border or paperwork that needs an extra signature. We’ve learned to stay patient and just keep pushing forward. The air around here is often thick with the smell of diesel from the highway, but that’s the price you pay for being in such a convenient location for transport. Our small team knows the ins and outs of the trade pretty well by now. We spend a lot of time on the phone and writing out labels by hand. Sometimes we share a meal in the office when the work pile is too high to leave. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living, and we appreciate the people we work with. We don’t use big words to describe what we do; we just move things from one place to another.
