We've been at Plot No. 934 in Kerala Gidc for a while now. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines running and the trucks coming in off the Bavla Highway. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons here. We handle a lot of poly packing work. It isn't fancy, just rolls and bags mostly. The crew shows up early, usually before the sun really gets a chance to beat down on the roof. Sometimes the highway traffic is a mess, which makes the deliveries late. We just deal with it. I started this place because I knew a bit about packaging and had some space. My desk is usually covered in samples and scraps. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. People just walk right into the shed if they need something. It’s a bit dusty because of the industrial area. We make sure the orders get out, even if we have to stay late some Fridays. There’s a tea stall down the road where we all go around four o'clock. It’s honest work. The machines need a lot of oiling and sometimes they break down, which is a headache. We fix them ourselves mostly. If you’re looking for the place, look for the big blue gate. It’s hard to miss if you know the highway. We just keep our heads down and do the job. That’s how it is at Avni Poly Pack.
