Karnavati Colour Chem

Started at Plot No. 6006/1/D in the G.I.D.C. area quite a while back. It gets pretty dusty out here with all the trucks moving in and out of the industrial estate. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot, though it usually catches up by noon. We spend most of our time dealing with different powders and pigments. My hands are usually stained some shade of blue or red by lunchtime. The shop floor is just filled with drums and bags stacked up to the ceiling. It’s not a fancy place, just concrete floors and metal desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone with transporters and checking the latest batches. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just sit outside and wait. There’s a small tea stall just down the road where everyone from the neighboring plots meets up around four. It’s a busy life here in G.I.D.C. but we’re used to the noise and the constant movement. Sometimes the orders get backed up, so we stay late under the dim lights to get things sorted. It’s just us doing our job every day. No big fancy offices here, just hard work and a lot of color everywhere you look. We know most of the guys in the nearby plots by name now. It’s a rough environment but it’s where we belong and we manage to keep everything running despite the heat and the long hours we put in every single week.
