Karan & Co.

Karan & Co. is our small shop over at Shop No.42 in the Mani Nagar area, right near Jawahar Chowk. Since we are so close to the bus stand, there is always a lot of noise and people rushing around outside our door. It is one of those places where you can hear the bus conductors shouting all day long, and sometimes travelers wander in just to ask for directions or see what we have on the shelves. The shop itself is not very big, but we make do with the space we have. We spend most of our time organizing the stock and chatting with the other shopkeepers in the market when things are slow. Mani Nagar is a busy part of town and being at Jawahar Chowk means we see a bit of everything. The floor is old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We open up early in the morning before the first buses start rolling out and stay until the sun goes down. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work. We don't do anything special here, just run the business and try to keep things moving. It is a local spot and we have gotten used to the constant hum of the city right outside. Most days are just about managing the counter and making sure the shop looks decent for whoever walks in next.
