Jay Narayan Steel/U & V Enterprise (Navrangpura)

Our office is in Loha Bhavan, right in the Income Tax area of Navrangpura. It is a very busy part of the city, and Loha Bhavan is an old building that has been central to the steel trade for a long time. We are on the fourth floor, in room 405. It’s a bit of a walk if you don't want to wait for the lift, which can be temperamental. The view from the window is just more of the Navrangpura skyline and the traffic near the Old High Court Lane. We handle a lot of steel orders and industrial supplies. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing down numbers. The office is pretty simple—just some desks, a lot of filing cabinets, and the sound of the ceiling fan. We get a lot of people coming in from the nearby courts or other businesses in the building. It’s not the quietest place to work, but there is a good energy to it. We’ve been here for years, so we know all the other traders in the building. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been in the same spot for a long time and people know where to find us. It’s an honest way to make a living, dealing with raw materials and helping other businesses get what they need. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
