Vatva is where all the metal work happens in this city. Our unit is in Phase-IV of the G.I.D.C., right near the Benzo Product factory. If you look for number 3218, that’s us. Jay Khodiyar Metal Industries is basically a big shed filled with raw materials and finished goods. It gets really hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but we’ve got some big fans that help a bit. There’s always the sound of metal clanging and machines humming. We handle a lot of different metal tasks, mostly industrial stuff. It’s a busy environment. Trucks come in and out of the gate all day, picking up orders or dropping off supplies. Sometimes the power cuts out for a few minutes, so we just sit outside in the shade until it comes back. It’s an honest way to make a living. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find the manager in a small cabin at the back covered in ledgers and blueprints. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, so we know all the other shop owners around here. We help each other out with tools or advice when needed. It’s a tight community of industrial folks. We just keep working, making sure the metal parts are done properly before they get shipped out to whoever needs them. We take pride in getting through the work pile before the day ends and heading back home.
