Gopaldas Khemchand & Sons Gopal Steel Fab

We are located in the Tijoriwala Compound, which is right across from Hajipura Garden. It’s just outside Delhi Gate on the Shahibaug Road. Our family has been doing this for a long time under the name Gopaldas Khemchand and Sons. We focus on steel fabrication and making things out of metal. The workshop is usually loud with the sound of cutting or welding. It’s not a clean environment; there are iron filings and scraps of steel on the floor. We deal with heavy stuff, so you’ll see us moving big sheets of metal around quite often. Shahibaug is a busy area, and being near the Delhi Gate means there’s constant movement outside. The compound has an old feel to it, which suits the kind of work we do. We don't have a polished office. Most of the talking happens right there on the shop floor amidst the tools. Our hands are usually stained with oil or metal dust. We make things that are meant to last, mostly practical steel items. People come to us because they know we've been in this spot for years. It’s a family-run thing, so we take it seriously but in a very down-to-earth way. We don't spend money on big ads. We just keep the welding machines running and finish the jobs we have. It's a tough, honest way to make a living in this part of town.
