Global Steel Philippines

Global Steel Philippines is based out of Ahmedabad, at 53 Pushpak Bungalows on the Ambli-Bopal Road. It’s a bit different than being in the middle of the city because it’s a residential-style building, which makes the work day feel a bit more relaxed than if we were in a high-rise. We deal with steel trading and logistics, so there’s always a lot to discuss regarding tonnages and delivery dates. The office is basically just a few rooms in the bungalow that we’ve converted with desks and computers. It’s nice because we have a bit of a garden outside, though we don’t really spend much time in it. Most of our day is spent on calls or sending emails to suppliers and clients. Ambli is growing fast, so there’s always construction noise nearby, which is ironic considering what we sell. We have a small kitchen where we make tea and heat up our lunch. It’s a simple setup and it suits us just fine. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and we're right there working. It feels more like a home office than a big company headquarters, which I think people appreciate. We’ve been here for a while and we’ve seen the road outside get busier every year. We just keep doing our thing and moving the steel. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all complain about it, but otherwise it’s a good spot for us. We finish the paperwork and lock the gate when we are done.
