We are located in the Sapath-4 building, specifically taking up space from the 5th to the 8th floor. It’s right there in Prahladnagar, which is a really busy part of Ahmedabad along the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. If you’ve ever driven down the S-G Highway, you’ve probably seen the building. Gir Ecological And Educational Tourism Foundation is what we call ourselves. We spend a lot of time talking about tourism and the environment. It's not a typical 9-to-5 where everyone sits in a cubicle. We have people coming in and out all the time. The Satellite area is always buzzing, so there is never a quiet moment outside. We aren't some big government agency with endless funding; we just do what we can with the resources we have. Sometimes the air conditioning on the 7th floor acts up, which makes things a bit uncomfortable in the summer heat. We try to keep our paperwork in order, but things get messy when we have big events or tours to plan. It’s a real office with real people who care about the work. We don't have a marketing department to write pretty things about us. We just work here and try to make sure the educational side of things gets handled properly. There’s a lot of talk about nature and how to show it to people. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even with the traffic outside.
