Down here at Gunina Alloy Steel Pvt. Ltd., the days usually start pretty early. We are based out in Simej, which is part of Dholka. If you know the area, you know it’s quite open and can get very dusty when the wind picks up across the survey lands. Our spot at Survey No. 644 is basically where everything happens for us. It is a heavy environment because of the steel, so things are rarely quiet. You hear the sounds of metal moving and the machines running most of the time we are open. It’s not a place for someone who likes a silent office, that’s for sure. We have a small area where we keep the records and where people can sit for a minute, but most of the action is out on the floor. The sun really hits the roof in the afternoon, making it quite warm inside during the peak of summer. We usually take our breaks together and talk about whatever is happening in Dholka or just life in general. It is honest work and it’s hard work, but we are used to it by now. The road out to Simej isn't the smoothest, but it gets us here. We don't have any fancy signs or decorations, just the name on the front and the work we do inside. It’s a practical setup for the kind of business we run. We just stay focused on what's in front of us and keep at it until the day is done. It's not fancy, but it's ours.
