Gems Genesis International School

You’ll find us on the Sardar Patel Ring Road, right near the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway in Ahmedabad. It’s a very busy part of the city, and you can always hear the traffic hum from the highway. Gems Genesis International School is a large building that stands out against the dusty landscape of the ring road. Because of the Ahmedabad heat, we spend a lot of time making sure the fans and coolers are working right. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the morning. Inside, the hallways are wide, and there’s always someone running to catch a class. We have a lot of glass windows, which lets in a lot of light, but also means we have to clean them quite often. The playground out back is where everything happens during recess. It’s not uncommon to see a bit of sand blowing around when it’s dry. We have a mix of staff from all over the city who navigate the highway traffic to get here every day. The atmosphere is pretty straightforward. We don’t have any polished marble floors or fancy statues. It’s just a place with classrooms, a library that smells like old paper, and a lot of energetic kids. Parents are always coming and going, especially at the gate on the SG Highway side. It’s a busy spot, but we’ve made our own space here in this part of Ahmedabad. We just get on with the day-to-day work.
