Gajanand Wooden Articles

Our place is located inside the Creata Icecream Compound which is right by the Gujarat Cold Storage. If you are driving down Odhav Road, you have to look for the Bank of Baroda because we are tucked right behind it. It is a bit of a maze back here with all the different units and the trucks coming in and out of the cold storage. Gajanand Wooden Articles is where we spend most of our time, surrounded by piles of wood and the smell of sawdust that never really goes away. The compound is always busy and noisy, especially when the ice cream trucks are loading up. We don't have a polished showroom. It is more of a workspace where things actually get built. The floors are rarely clean for long because of the wood shavings. We just wear our old clothes and get to work every morning. Being behind the bank makes it a bit quieter than being right on the main Odhav Road, but not by much. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the unit during the summer months, but we have a few fans going to keep the air moving. People usually find us by word of mouth since we are hidden behind the larger buildings. It is a practical spot for what we do. We don't need a fancy office to handle wooden articles, just enough space for the tools and the raw material. It is hard work but it keeps us busy.
