G. K. Steels

G. K. Steels has its office at A-205 in the Samudra building on C. G. Road. This is a pretty central part of the city, so there’s always something happening right outside our windows. We’ve been here for several years now, and the office has become a second home to many of us. It’s a functional space where we handle the buying and selling of steel. We don't have any of those modern office gimmicks like bean bags or ping-pong tables. We just have sturdy desks and a lot of coffee to keep us going. The steel business can be a bit unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time on the phone checking prices and talking to transporters. It’s not a very quiet office, but that’s the nature of the trade. We aren't interested in using a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just buy steel and sell it to the people who need it. We try to be honest about what we can do and when things will arrive. Sometimes there are delays or things don't go exactly to plan, but we always try to be upfront about it. The building itself is older, but it serves us well. If you’re ever walking down C. G. Road, you’re not far from where we are. We're just regular people doing a job we know well and making sure things get delivered.
