G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology is right here in Anand, Gujarat. The campus is a big part of the town. We’ve been here since the late nineties, and the 388 001 area has changed a lot since then. You see students everywhere, mostly rushing between classes or sitting under the trees trying to finish their lab reports. The buildings are made of brick and have that solid, old-school feel to them. It’s not a place with shiny new skyscrapers, but it has everything needed for learning. We have workshops where you can hear the sound of machines running and classrooms where the chalkboards are always dusty. The staff here has been around for a long time. We know the best places to get a quick meal near the gates. It’s a busy life, especially during exam season when everyone is a bit stressed out. In the evenings, things quiet down a little, and you can walk across the grounds and see the lights in the dorms. We don't have a lot of fancy corporate speak here. It’s just a place where people come to study engineering and hopefully get a decent job afterward. The heat in Anand can be something else in May, but we’re all used to it by now. It’s a grounded place with a lot of history in its walls. We just keep things running for the next generation.
