Fabrica Steel Corporation

Fabrica Steel Corporation is situated in the J.J. Suratwala Estate. We are right opposite the Chakudia Mahadev temple in the Rakhial area. Having the temple right there is a nice landmark for anyone trying to find us. Our work involves a lot of steel, which means our yard is usually quite loud and busy. Rakhial is an old industrial part of the city, and you can feel that history in the buildings around us. We aren't a corporate giant with glass walls; we are a steel yard and workshop where things get done by hand and with heavy machinery. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of the nearby industries in the air. We spend our days sorting through different types of steel and making sure we have enough for the orders coming in. It’s a lot of lifting and moving, and the weather really affects how the day goes—it gets pretty hot in the summer under the tin roof. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. We just rely on the fact that we are here every day doing the work. People in the estate know us, and we know them. It’s a simple, hardworking life where we focus on the materials and getting things loaded onto the trucks without too much fuss. We usually keep the main gate open so the drivers know they can pull right in.
