F H Higher Secondary School

Our school is located at number 10 in Bahiyal, which is part of the Dehgam area in the Gandhinagar district. It’s a bit away from the main city, so things are a little quieter around here. We are a higher secondary school, so we deal with the older students who are getting ready for their board exams. The building is a solid, old-fashioned structure that has stood for many years. We have a playground that is mostly just open ground, where the students play cricket or football when they have a break. The classrooms are simple with wooden benches that have names carved into them from students years ago. We focus a lot on the core subjects like science and commerce because that is what the families here want for their children. The teachers mostly live in the surrounding villages of Dehgam, so they understand the local life well. It can get very hot in the afternoons, so we try to get the most important work done in the cooler mornings. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or promotional flyers. We just show up every day and do the work of teaching. The monsoon season is always a bit of a challenge with the mud on the roads around Bahiyal, but everyone still makes it to class. We’ve been a part of this community for a long time and hope to stay that way.
