Working out of Plot No. 526 in Phase-II means we are right in the thick of the industrial zone. There isn't much to see around here except other plots and a lot of heavy vehicles. Steel is a heavy business, and our yard is usually full of it. We spend our mornings unloading trucks and our afternoons loading them back up. The noise of metal hitting metal is something you just get used to after a while. It's not the kind of place you'd wear a clean shirt to for very long. The roads in Phase-II can be a bit rough, especially after the rain, but we manage. We have a small cabin for the paperwork, but most of the action happens outside in the open area. We’ve been at this plot for a while now and we know most of the drivers who come through. It’s a lot of physical labor and keeping track of weights and measures. Sometimes the heat under the tin roof gets to be a bit much, so we take breaks under the one tree near the gate. We don't do much in the way of advertising; the work usually speaks for itself when the trucks go out. It’s a long day, starting early and finishing when the last gate is locked. Nothing fancy, just moving steel from one place to another. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work waiting for us each morning. It keeps us moving.
