Durga Iron Mart

You can find Durga Iron Mart inside Chaudhri Chambers, which is right by Kot'S Rang, just inside the Dariyapur Gate. It is a very old part of the city, and the streets are always packed with scooters, handcarts, and people rushing around. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal mostly in iron and steel pieces, so the place is full of heavy metal rods and sheets leaning against the walls. It’s a bit dark inside the chambers, and it always smells a little bit like old metal and rust, which I guess is what you would expect. We spend most of our day measuring out lengths of iron and cutting things down to size for the local builders and smiths who come by. It is noisy work, especially when the saws are going, and the sound echoes off the stone walls of the building. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain off the stock. My brothers and I run the place, and we don't really have a set schedule; we just open up early and stay until the last customer is sorted out. It’s a tough job on the back, lifting all that iron, but it is what we know how to do. We don't bother with fancy displays or anything; the iron speaks for itself when people see it.
