Our shop is over in the Rudra Arcade in Memnagar. We are at number five, which is easy to find if you know where the Memnagar Fire Station is. You can hear the sirens pretty clearly whenever there’s a call out, which happens more often than you’d think. The arcade itself is a busy place with people coming and going for all sorts of errands. We’ve got a glass door that’s always covered in fingerprints because of how many people push it instead of pulling. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and a small area for us to sit. We keep the AC running because the afternoon sun hits the front of the building pretty hard. It gets a bit stuffy if we don't. I usually spend my mornings checking the inventory and making sure nothing has expired. There’s always a lot of paperwork to deal with, and my desk is buried under a pile of invoices. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding a place to park on the street, so we have to go out and help them unload quickly. It’s a bit of a rush every time. We have a small kettle in the corner for making coffee when the weather gets a bit cooler. It’s a small operation, just a few of us trying to stay on top of things. We like being in this part of Ahmedabad.
