Careers Placement

We set up Careers Placement over in Behrampura at 16/A The Green Cross Society. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but we like it here. We help people find jobs, mostly local stuff but sometimes further out. It’s just a few of us in the office. We spend most of the day on the phone or looking at resumes that people send in. Some days are slow and we just drink tea and talk. Other days, we have people coming in and out constantly. It’s not a shiny office with glass walls. We have some old desks and a filing cabinet that sticks sometimes. We try to help out whoever walks through the door. Finding work is hard right now, so we see a lot of stressed faces. We just listen and see if any of the companies we talk to have an opening. It's pretty straightforward. We don’t promise anything we can’t do. If there’s a job, we’ll tell you. If not, we tell you that too. The Green Cross area is familiar to us. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know our names. We keep things simple because that’s what works. No fancy speeches or big presentations here. Just us in a small room trying to make things line up for people who need a paycheck. It’s honest work for us and we just keep going every single day.
