Our shop is at number 45, which is one of the Municipal Shops right outside the Dariapur Gate. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty crowded with all the traffic coming through the gate. Being in a municipal shop means things are a bit old-fashioned, but it works for what we do with steel. The walls are thick and the floors are stained from years of moving heavy metal around. We have stacks of steel that come and go every week. It’s a noisy business, especially when the trucks are unloading right at the front. We spend most of our time checking orders and making sure the inventory matches what we have on the floor. It gets quite dusty here, and we usually have the big shutters open all day to let the air in. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a break and sit on the stools near the entrance. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the ledger books and our phones. Most of the people we deal with have been coming to this area for years. It’s a tough kind of work, moving heavy stuff in the heat, but we are used to it by now. The Dariapur area has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that daily grind.
