Academic Staff College

You can find Academic Staff College inside the School Of Social Sciences Building on the Gujarat University campus. Navarangpura is a big area, and the campus itself is sprawling, so people sometimes get lost trying to find our specific corner. It’s an old building, typical for a university in Ahmedabad, with high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors that creak when you open them. We mostly handle things for the professors and staff who are here for training. The office is usually piled high with folders and registration forms. We spend a lot of time on the phone or answering emails about schedules. It gets incredibly hot in the summer, and the old fans just sort of move the warm air around. There’s a lot of history in these walls, but it’s mostly just a practical place to work. We have a small tea area where people gather during the breaks to complain about the heat or talk about their research. The library downstairs is quiet, but our part of the building stays pretty active with people coming in and out. The campus greenery is nice, but the dust still finds its way onto every shelf. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just running the programs and making sure the certificates get printed correctly. It’s a steady routine of paperwork and organizing sessions for the faculty who come from all over Gujarat. We’ve been at this Ahmedabad campus for quite a long time.
