1St Innings The Play School

Being a play school located inside Radhika Bunglow means things feel more like a home than a regular office or institution. We are situated near Kedar Tower, which is the easiest landmark to use if you are trying to find us in Shahibaug. The house has different rooms that we have converted for various activities. We have colorful mats spread out on the floors and shelves filled with plastic blocks and picture books that have clearly been used many times. The front yard is the main spot where the kids run around for a bit before the morning sun gets too high for them to stay outside. We spend a lot of our time making sure nobody trips over a toy or helping the little ones with their snacks. It is a loud place, usually full of crying, laughing, and the sound of tiny shoes hitting the tile floors. The kitchen stays busy with someone always preparing light meals or washing up the small cups and plates. We keep the main gate locked for safety, and parents usually wait in their cars or on scooters outside the bungalow at pickup time. Since we are in a residential part of Ahmedabad, we try to keep the noise levels down a bit, but that is difficult with toddlers. We often find stray crayons or small toy pieces in our pockets at the end of a shift. It is just the way it goes here.
