Z P High School

Z P High School is right on the Main Road of Jalesar Road in Awal Kheda. If you’re driving through that part of Agra, you’ve probably seen the gate. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of dust and the sound of horns blowing, which can be a bit much during the middle of the day. It’s a Zilla Parishad school, so it’s run in that typical way where we have to make the most of the resources we get. The building itself is sturdy enough, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever got the time and money for it. The kids come from all over Awal Kheda, mostly from families who have lived here for generations. We have a playground that gets very dusty in the summer, but the students don't seem to mind it when they are playing during the breaks. Inside, the rooms are high-ceilinged to keep things a bit cooler when the Agra heat starts hitting us in May. We don't have a lot of modern gadgets, just the books and the teachers' voices. The routine is the same every day: assembly in the morning, classes until lunch, and then a bit more work before everyone heads home. It is a practical place. We focus on the basics and try to make sure the students actually show up and do their work. It’s just how things are in Awal Kheda.
