Gyan Singh High School

Gyan Singh High School is tucked away in Daharkapura, near the Post Khediya Saiyan area. Being out here in Agra 282001 means things are a bit quieter than in the main city center. The school building is simple and sits on a plot of land that gets quite dusty when the wind picks up. We have a good number of students who walk in from the nearby villages every morning. You can usually hear them coming from down the road before you see them. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure the classrooms are ready for the day. There isn't much in the way of high-tech gadgets here, just blackboards and benches. We have a small staff and everyone knows everyone else’s business, which is just how it is in Daharkapura. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit difficult to travel on, but we still open up. It is a basic setup, really. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids have a place to sit and learn. It can be a lot of work to maintain an old building like this, especially during the summer heat in Agra. We keep the fans running and try to stay cool while the lessons go on. It's a humble place, but it serves the community out here in Khediya Saiyan well enough.
