Vyas Model School

Vyas Model School is located in the Taj Ganj area of Agra. Since we are in Taj Ganj, it can get very crowded with people and tourists moving around the city, but our little corner feels a bit more like a regular neighborhood once you step inside. The school is a modest building that has been part of this community for some time. We have a front door that opens right onto the street, so you really feel the pulse of the city from the moment you arrive. The classrooms are organized but definitely show signs of being used by many students over the years. We have the usual chalkboards and stacks of notebooks everywhere. It’s a place where teachers are always reminding kids to keep their voices down, though it rarely works for long. The air in Agra can be quite heavy, so the fans are almost always going in every room. During the lunch break, the students sit together and share their food, and the whole place smells like different home-cooked meals. It’s a very human environment, nothing like those polished corporate schools you see in the movies. We deal with the usual problems like leaky taps or a door that won't shut quite right, but we just fix them and move on. It is a school that belongs to the people of Taj Ganj, and we like it that way. Everyone knows the building and the sound of the bell ringing out.
