Sri Hariswaroop Singh H. S. School

Our school is out in Viraj Vihar Colony, right near the Kalwari area on Bichpuri Road in Agra. It’s a bit away from the main tourist parts of the city, which makes it a bit quieter, though the road still gets plenty of trucks and bikes passing by. We’ve got a fairly large building that serves the local families around here. It’s a high school, so we see kids of all ages coming through the gates every morning. Most of them are from the nearby colonies, and you can see them walking or cycling down the dusty roads to get here. The grounds are simple, with a small area where they do their morning prayers and exercises. Inside, the hallways can get quite loud between classes, but that’s just how schools are. We have teachers who have lived in Agra their whole lives, so they really understand the families we work with. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. Instead, we just focus on the daily tasks of teaching and keeping the school running. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to open all the doors to get a breeze through. We deal with the usual issues like fixing broken benches or making sure the drinking water is cold. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just try to get the kids through their exams and ready for whatever comes next.
