Soniya Beauty Parlour

Soniya Beauty Parlour is right in the Main Market here in Barhan. Since we are in the Agra district, things are always a bit busy and noisy around the market area. I’ve been running this place for some time now. It’s a spot for the local women to come and get their eyebrows done or maybe get ready for a big wedding in the family. We do simple things like facials, hair styling, and putting on henna. The shop is small and a bit tucked away, but everyone in Barhan knows where the Main Market is so they find us. Inside, it’s mostly just me and sometimes a younger girl helping if it’s the busy season. We have a few chairs and a lot of different threads, powders, and creams sitting on the shelves. It’s not one of those fancy salons like you see in the big cities, but we know what our customers like. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we have to use hand fans, but nobody seems to mind much. We talk about our families and what’s happening in the village while I work on their hair. It feels more like a small gathering of friends sometimes. I try to keep everything organized, even if it gets a little messy when many people come at once. We don't have a website, just the shop door and our reputation.
