Shiv Shakti Building Material is at Shop No.1 in Village Taliya. We are right in the middle of Parashar Market on Fatehabad Road. It’s easy to spot us because we are directly in front of the PNB Bank. Being in such a busy market means there is always something going on. People are constantly coming and going from the bank or the other shops nearby. We keep all our building supplies piled up around the shop. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. The dust from Fatehabad Road is constant, so we are always sweeping the front. It’s a family-run place. My brother and I take turns at the front counter. We don't have any fancy displays or sales tactics. We just tell people what we have in stock and how much it costs. It’s a practical business. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading bags and bricks. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard for customers to pull over with their trailers. We just help them as quickly as we can. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet down. It’s a simple life, and we’re just part of the local scene here in Taliya. We don't need anything more than that to feel like we’ve done a good day's work.
