Maa Kalka Concrete

It's interesting being near the Taj Mahal. You see the crowds of tourists on Fatehbad Road, but once you turn off towards Village Kondol, things get quiet and dusty. Maa Kalka Concrete is right there at Plot No. 1862. It's a basic site, mostly open ground where the mixers can move around. We deal with concrete all day, so everything has a thin layer of gray dust on it. The local kids sometimes walk past the gate on their way to the fields. It’s not a polished business spot. We have a small shed for the records and a place to sit when the sun gets too much. The trucks come in early when the air is still cool. Working in a village means we know most of the neighbors, and they know the sound of our engines starting up. It is a very different world from the fancy hotels just a few kilometers away. We just focus on the loads we have to prepare and the schedules for the day. Sometimes the electricity is a bit spotty, so we have to wait around, but we usually find something to fix or clean while we wait. There is no big sign or flashing lights, just our name on the wall and the work happening inside. It's a simple life here, just making sure the concrete is ready when it needs to be. We don't have a lot of office staff, just people who know the job.
