On Shamshabad Road in Agra, our school stands as a regular part of the daily landscape. If you drive past, you’ll see the Mount Litera Zee School sign, but inside it’s just a place where a lot of learning and noise happens. Agra can be very busy, and our location on the road means we get a lot of the city’s energy. The building is designed to hold a lot of students, and every floor has its own vibe depending on which grade is there. We have a playground that gets quite a workout every single day, and the grass is always a bit thin because of all the running. The classrooms are filled with the usual desks and chairs, and there’s always a stray sweater or a forgotten water bottle left behind at the end of the day. The teachers are busy people, moving from one room to another with their bags and books. We don’t go in for anything too flashy; we just focus on the lessons and making sure the day runs smoothly. Sometimes the traffic on Shamshabad Road makes the buses late, and we just have to adjust. It’s a very human way of running things, with all the small hiccups and joys that come with a school. We know the parents who are always early and the ones who are always late. It’s a community, really, just tucked away in a corner of Agra. We keep the kettle going for the afternoon staff meeting.
