If you walk into Kissan Compound in Sultanganj, you’ll find us at 26/268. Mother Consumables Foods (India) Private Limited is what the sign says, but we usually just call it the shop or the warehouse. It’s a bit of a maze back here among all the other buildings. We handle a lot of food products, so there is always a smell of something being processed or packed. It’s loud, dusty, and constant. We spend most of our shifts moving boxes and making sure the inventory is right. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to stay late to finish up. Nobody complains much because that’s just how the food business goes. We’ve got a small crew of regulars who have worked here for years. We know the neighbors and the local delivery guys. The building itself is an older one, so it has its quirks, like the door that sticks in the rain. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the orders filled and the food out the door. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. You won't find any corporate suits here, just people in work clothes getting their hands dirty. Sultanganj is a busy place to be, but it’s home for the business. We just keep doing what we do every single day without making too much of a fuss about it.
