Foodish

Sadar Bazaar in Agra is always a bit of a chaotic place. We are located right in the Saudagar Line. If you know Agra, you know how crowded it gets with the tourists and the locals all mixed together. Our place, Foodish, is just a regular spot in the middle of all that. We don’t have much in the way of air conditioning that works all the time, so it stays pretty natural. The street noise comes right inside. We spend our mornings on prep work, chopping things and getting the stove going. It’s a lot of work just to keep up with the lunch rush. People come in with their shopping bags from the bazaar. We don’t do anything special for tourists, we just treat everyone the same. The building is old, like most things around here. We’ve had to fix the plumbing a few times this year. It’s just part of being in an old market area. You get used to the smells of the bazaar and the sounds of the rickshaws. We don’t really have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Saudagar Line is a busy stretch. We just try to keep the food coming and the tables cleared. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do every day. There isn't any fancy decor here, just some sturdy tables and the smell of cooking.
