Kissan Iron Works

Kissan Iron Works has been operating out of 26/268 in Sultanganj for a long time. It’s an old-school kind of place. You won't find any fancy computers or glass walls here. Instead, it’s mostly iron, hammers, and the smell of hot metal. Sultanganj is an older part of the city, and our shop fits right in. The building is solid and has seen a lot of years. We don't spend money on advertising or making the front look modern. We’d rather spend that on better materials. The floor is usually covered in iron filings, and there’s a layer of dust on most of the shelves. That’s just how an ironworks looks. We have a small crew, and some of us have been working together for decades. We know the rhythm of the work. Sometimes it’s slow and steady, and other times we’re rushing to get a big order out the door. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just make things out of iron. If you come by 26/268, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. The noise of the metal being worked is constant. It’s a tough job, but it’s what we do. We like being in Sultanganj. It feels like a real place where people actually make things with their hands. There is a lot of history in these walls, and we just keep adding to it every day. It’s simple and honest.
