We are out in the Foundry Nagar Industrial Area at C-61, Road No. A-10, right off Hathras Road. It is a loud place because of all the factories around us. Our building is basically a large shed with a corrugated metal roof. When it rains it gets so loud we can hardly hear ourselves talk. We have carpets piled up everywhere. Some are just raw materials and others are finished and ready to go. There is always a bit of lint and dust in the air so we wear old clothes to work. It is not a showroom for customers to walk around in. It is a place where work actually happens. We have a small cabin in one corner for the bills and the computer but the rest of the space is for the stock. We eat our lunch together on a bench in the back. The guys working here have been part of the team for years. We do not have any glossy advertisements or a fancy website. If someone wants to see our carpets they come down to the factory and we unroll them on the concrete floor. It is hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. We stay late sometimes to finish a big order for a truck that is coming early the next morning. It is a simple and honest way to make a living.
