Jai Bholey Hair Saloon

The shop sits right here in Bindu Katra. It is a busy spot in Madhu Nagar and we have been around for a good while. Every morning starts with rolling up the shutter and dusting off the chairs before anyone walks in. Agra can get quite dusty, especially near the main roads like Bindukatra. Most people around here know the name Jai Bholey Hair Saloon. It is not a fancy place with big lights or anything like that. Just some mirrors, a few pairs of scissors, and the radio playing some songs in the background. You see a lot of people walking by toward the main market. Sometimes the tea stall guy brings over a glass of chai and we talk for a bit. We spend most of the day standing on our feet. My back usually hurts by the evening but that is just how the work goes. We talk to the neighbors about the weather or how the traffic is getting worse. It is usually loud outside because of the scooters and the autos honking near Bindu Katra. Inside it is a little bit quieter. We just do the usual hair cutting and shaving. Nothing too complicated happens here. People come in, sit down, and wait their turn. Sometimes it is a quick trim and other times someone wants a clean shave. We keep the floor swept but hair gets everywhere by noon. It is a simple life here in Agra. We open early and stay until the sun goes down.
