Irfan Hair Cutting Saloon

Irfan Hair Cutting Saloon has been sitting here at the Main Chauraha for quite some time now. We are right on Jaganair Road in the Naripura area of Agra. It is not a very big shop, just a few chairs and mirrors where we do the daily work. Irfan started this because it was what he knew how to do. Most of the people who come in live right around the corner or in the nearby streets. It gets quite crowded on Sundays because everyone wants to look decent for the start of the week. We do basic haircuts and shaves for the men around here. The shop is simple. We have a ceiling fan that runs all day because Agra heat can be something else. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out or keep working with the doors open for light. We don't really have any big signs or advertisements. People just know where we are because we’ve been at this spot for years. We keep our tools ready and try to sweep up the hair as often as possible between customers. It is a noisy area with all the traffic from the chauraha, so there is always something to look at through the front door. We aren't trying to be fancy or like those big city parlours. It is just a local spot for a quick cut and maybe a bit of talk about what is happening in the district. That is how it is.
