Gurmit Beauty Parlour

Gurmit Beauty Parlour is situated in Atam Market within the Sadar Bazaar area of Agra. Being in such a central market means we are never bored. There is always something happening right outside the door. I’ve been running this parlour for quite a few years now. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the mirrors, the chairs, and all the regular creams and bottles on the shelves. It’s not a designer salon, just a local parlour where you can get a quick trim or get your hair colored. I usually have one or two assistants helping me out, especially on Saturdays when everyone wants to look good for the weekend. We drink a lot of chai during the day to keep our energy up. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the equipment is all in good working order. People like coming here because they know we won’t talk their ear off with corporate nonsense. We just talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while we do their hair. Agra can get very hot in the summer, so we have a big cooler running that makes a lot of noise, but it keeps the place bearable. It’s a small, honest shop and we’ve made many friends over the years through this work. We don't do anything too complicated, just the standard stuff that people need.
