If you are looking for us, we are right across from the Sen Weight Bridge. It’s a good landmark because everyone in the iron and steel trade eventually has to go there to weigh their trucks. Our place is usually filled with stacks of iron rods and steel sheets. It’s a noisy environment with the sound of metal clanging together every time we move something with the crane. The yard is mostly dirt and gravel, so it gets a bit muddy when it rains. We have a small crew of guys who handle the loading and unloading. They’re good workers and they know how to handle the heavy stuff without getting hurt. We keep a ledger in the small shack near the entrance to track everything that comes in and goes out. It’s a lot of manual work and we go home tired every day. Dealing with steel means your hands are always black by the end of the shift. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or advertising because people in the neighborhood already know where we are. Usually, customers just pull up their trucks and tell us what they need for their construction sites. We check the stock, load them up, and they head over to the weight bridge. It’s a simple way of doing things and it works for us. We just focus on getting the orders right and keeping the yard moving.
