D A V Inter College, Kundaul

This is an older school located in Kundol, which is part of the Agra district. D A V Inter College has been part of this village for a long time now. The building is large and has that old-style construction with high ceilings. It gets very hot in Agra, so those high ceilings help a bit, but we still rely on the old ceiling fans. Being in a village/ward like Kundol, we have a lot of students from farming families. They walk here or come on bicycles. The playground is just a big open dirt field where they play cricket or football when the weather isn't too bad. We have a lot of students, so the hallways can get quite crowded between classes. It’s a government-aided kind of feel, very simple and functional. There is no air conditioning or anything like that. We spend our time managing the crowds and trying to keep the records straight in the office. The desks are made of heavy wood and have been scratched by generations of students. Our teachers are mostly local folks who have been teaching here for decades. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise and dust, but it’s the main school for many families in this ward. We just focus on the daily lessons and getting through the exam season without too many problems. It’s a very grounded, practical place to work every day.
