Christ The King School

Tundla is a small place, and Gandhi Puram is a quiet enough corner for a school. We’ve been running Christ The King for a good number of years now. The building is a standard two-story structure with a small courtyard where we hold the morning assembly. It’s nothing spectacular to look at, just plain walls and some windows that we have to keep shut when the monkeys are around. The classrooms are filled with wooden desks that have seen better days, but they still hold up. Most of the teachers live nearby, so they walk to work. We know most of the parents by name because we see them every afternoon at the gate. There’s a bit of a scramble when the final bell rings and all the rickshaws arrive to pick up the kids. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many children running around, there’s always some dust and stray papers. We don't have a big website or a social media manager. We just print out the notices and pin them to the board near the entrance. The town of Tundla is mostly known for the railway, but for us, it’s just home. We spend our days teaching the basics and making sure the kids don't get into too much trouble during the breaks. It’s a modest school with a simple way of doing things, and that seems to work fine for the folks around Gandhi Puram.
