Umar Khaleel Cement Bricks is out at 2-12-5 in Bokkal Guda. It’s not really an office, more like a big open yard where we do all the mixing and casting. You can see the piles of grey bricks from the road. We spend our whole day out in the sun. It’s hard, physical work, and by the end of the day, everything we own is covered in a layer of cement dust. We don’t have any fancy equipment, just the basic machines and our own hands. We started this because there’s a lot of building going on in the district and people needed a local source for bricks. We don't have a website or any salesperson. Usually, people just drive their tractors or trucks right into the yard and tell us how many they need. We have a small tin shed where we keep the records and take a break when the heat gets too bad. Sometimes the mix doesn't set right if it's too humid, which can be frustrating, but that's just how it is. It’s a simple business. We aren't trying to be some big company. We just want to make sure the bricks we put out are solid enough for people to build their walls with. It's a bit of a rough life, but it's steady and we like working for ourselves here in Bokkal Guda.
