Out in Indanpally, we spend our days at Sy. No. 112/4 making bricks. Laxmi Narsimha Fly Ash Bricks is a place where you will always find a bit of grey dust on your shoes. We are in the Jannaram area, and it gets quite hot out here in the sun. Making fly ash bricks is heavy work and there is not much shade once you are out in the yard. We have stacks of bricks lined up waiting to be moved out to different construction sites in the district. The machines we use are loud and they make a steady thumping sound that you can hear from the road. We do not have a fancy office with chairs. Most of the time, we are just standing around the piles or checking the mix. It is not the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the day, everyone is covered in a bit of grit. We have a small shed where we keep our tools and take our lunch breaks when the sun is at its highest point. People come by with their tractors or trucks to pick up loads, and we help them get everything tied down. It is a straightforward business without any complicated rules. We just make the bricks and hope the rain stays away long enough for them to set properly. It is just what we do every day to keep things moving along.
