Akhila Ratnam Travels

Our place is in Vijaya Nagar Colony, over in Manjulapur. We’ve been running the travels business from this spot for some time now. It’s mostly about booking seats and making sure the cars are clean for the next trip. The office is small, just enough for a couple of chairs and a desk where we keep the logs. Manjulapur is a decent area, and we get a lot of local folks looking for a ride to the next town or maybe a longer trip for a wedding. We have a few drivers who have been with us for years. They know the shortcuts and how to handle the traffic when it gets bad. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other days it’s quiet enough to sit outside and have a tea. We try to keep the vehicles in decent condition, though the potholes around here make that a full-time job. It’s not a fancy operation with a big website or anything. Most people just walk in or call us because they’ve used us before. We handle the bookings and the scheduling right here at 4-178/4. It’s a lot of talking to people and figuring out the best times for them to leave. We just keep doing what we do every day. There is usually a map spread out on the table and some keys hanging by the door for the morning shifts.
